A Writing Journey

Why do we write?

Hello, everyone. I’ve been wondering recently about the reasons people write. I see quotes from famous writers about stories needing to get out of their heads or wanting to read a book that doesn’t exist,  but what about the rest of us – we who are not famous and maybe not even published? What keeps you going? I would love to hear your answers.

In addition,  if there are any good books you’ve read about the subject,  please let me know!

Take care,  fellow travelers.

  1. Despite all of those quotes that I posted, which I do agree with, I do have my own personal reason for writing.

I write because I’ve never been brave enough to speak. All of the wonderful discoveries and thoughts and feelings that I have, that feed my soul with light, are things that I have never been able to communicate with speech. So I use only what I can–words and writing, in the hopes that this way, someone will hear me.

    What about you? 🙂

  2. Why do I write? To escape from the pressures of reality. And to entertain myself.

  3. I write because I have a gift for it, if I say so myself, and it makes my life feel meaningful. I don’t need an audience, but I like it when I get one!

  4. The fun of telling stories and entertaining people.
