Flowers falling softly through the night
Bright colors turned gray in fading light
Picked from the stem of life they fade
Their beauty gone a debt unpaid.
Petals brown and curl to nothing
No longer do soft shades sing.
In the evening dusk of thought
All is burned that once was wrought.
Wonders sparkle, shimmer, dissolve to dust
Life fades from dawn in distrust.
Bright colors turned gray in fading light,
Flowers falling softly though the night.
Take care, fellow travelers.
